Introduction

Mathematics Achievement Academy

Welcome to the Mathematics Achievement Academy: Formative Assessment and Applying the Content Across the Strands, Grade 2 trainer resource.

In the Mathematics Achievement Academy: Formative Assessment and Applying the Content Across the Strands, Grade 2, participants will:

  • Take a deeper look at two themes from the original Mathematics Achievement Academy, Grade 2: formative assessment and content-area connections.
  • Explore six components of formative assessment and related implementation considerations.
  • Through hands-on activities focusing on measurement and data, make connections to whole number operations and fraction concepts.

Support for diverse learners continues through grade-level mathematics, problem solving experiences, and discourse strategies. The focus continues to be tools and supports for improving overall mathematics instruction, student success on statewide assessments, and post-secondary readiness.

The following sections contain the materials you need for turn-around training. Please download the files you need to your computer prior to the scheduled training to prevent issues with connectivity to the internet.
