Educators' Code of Ethics
Texas educators are responsible for knowing and implementing standard practices and ethical conduct towards students, colleagues, parents, and the community. The Educators' Code of Ethics is found in Chapter 247 of Title 19 Education, Part 7 of the TAC.
The Code of Ethics is divided into two parts:
- §247.1. Purpose and Scope; Definitions
- §247.2. Code of Ethics and Standard Practices for Texas Educators
The primary purpose of the Educators’ Code of Ethics is to protect the safety and welfare of Texas schoolchildren and school personnel.
