###
45-45-90 Triangles

To learn the pattern of the side lengths of a 45-45-90 triangle, students complete a gallery walk, a card sort activity starting with using the Pythagorean theorem, and activity to locate if there is an error in a presented problem and if so to identify what the error is.

###
Working with Literal Equations

The lesson will provide a conceptual basis for illustrating the parallelism between solving multi-step equations and translating literal equations into solutions for specified variables.

###
More Super Duper Math

**Students will gather objects to compare quantities and justify their answers pictorially and verbally. They will use their vocabulary posters and accountable talk menus to discuss with their partners. **

###
Are You Part of Our Family?

**The teacher will introduce Fact Families through literature. Students will create and represent various Fact Families within 10.**

###
Product and Quotient Properties of Exponents

This lesson helps students understand two foundational exponential properties: The Product and Quotient Properties of Exponents. Students will collaborate to formulate a rule for these properties. Ultimately, students should conclude that when the same bases are being multiplied, exponents will be added; and when the same bases are being divided, exponents will be subtracted. As the lesson progresses, students will apply these rules to simplify expressions of various difficulties.

###
The Picture Graph Party

Students will explore and create picture graphs through collaboration and group work.

**Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Vertical Alignment**

###
Understanding the Equal Sign and Balancing Equations

Students will apply addition strategies as they complete four different station rotations to help understand that the equal sign represents a relationship where the expressions on each side of the equal sign represents the same value.

###
It’s All About the Bend, No Breaking

Students will experiment with choosing tools to measure around a previously created pet habitat in preparation for choosing appropriately sized food bowls. Students will use a graphic organizer to record tools chosen and to explain why those tools were or were not a good choice for continuous measurement.

###
Balancing Act

**Students use a pan balance model and manipulatives to identify a total that balances two parts. The use of the pan balance will help to develop the concept of equality. Students will develop the language of equality by reading and identifying the following expressions; balances, is the same as, is equal to, and equa l before the symbol for equality is introduced. Students will identify an unknown part in a balance situation. Students will communicate ideas, explain, and justify how they solved problems.**

###
Math Problem Solving CAN DRIVE good problem solvers!: 1st grade CAN Drive

**Students will help the principal collect cans for a can food drive. The students will be able to solve math word problems using the UPS✓ (UNDERSTAND what the problem is asking, make a PLAN, SOLVE the problem, and then CHECK to see if the answer makes sense) song/strategy, draw to show their work, and write a number sentence to go with their problem. **

6.08 Bonus Video: Law of Sines—The Ambiguous Case

The Law of Sines can be used to solve for sides and angles of oblique triangles. However, in some cases more than one triangle may satisfy the given conditions. We refer to this as an ambiguous case.

Paint-a-long—Peg + Cat | PBS KIDS Lab

Use this game with children to combine shapes to draw Peg, Cat, and all their friends. Peg can help children every step of the way as they use their paintbrush and different colors to draw snazzy shapes or colorful characters.

###
Proving Triangles Congruent Using the Side-Side-Side and Side-Angle-Side Postulates

**Students will prove: Two triangles are congruent using the Side-Side-Side (SSS) and Side-Angle-Side (SAS) postulates.**

7 Chapter 9: Hypothesis Testing

In this chapter, students will learn how to perform a hypothesis test and interpret its results.

###
3 Chapter 1: Exploring Data

In this chapter, we introduce statistics, how it is used, and the types of data we come across in real life.

###
4 Chapter 7: Sampling Distributions

In this chapter, students will describe and model variability using population and sampling distributions.
